The Directorate of Production services is one of the new directorates because it started in the beginning of this year. As a new, it has many activities for doing in order to develop livestock and agriculture production, not only in ISAE as institution, but also in the region generally, especially the population around.

For this, the directorate produces some products : In livestock, we produce fresh milk, meat, and chicken for broilers and for layers, Irish potatoes, wheat, and maize. We can’t forget jobs we offer in the production process, farm labor, etc.

Activities in the farms ( BUSOGO & RUBIRIZI)

The directorate offers veterinary intervention for livestock, artificial insemination to the surrounding population.

The directorate also takes care of same animals like : cows, sheep, boër goats, rabits, turkey, and pigs

 Busogo Farm under the directorate produces/offers the following products : milk, meat, scudious for pigs, chicken for meat, agriculture : Some crops are integrated in farm and they include the following : Irish potatoes, maize, wheat, nursery eucalptus, grafted avocado, alnus and plumes.

Planned activities

 Diversifying animal and crop products.
 Contributing to the improvement of production unit management.
 Contribution into the improvement of the quality of livestock and agriculture units of ISAE laureate as the future veterinarians and agronomists.
 Contribution into the development of teaching, research and technology transfer facilities through ISAE Model Farms in collaboration with ISAE unit of Technology and Transfer.
 Contribution in the increasing of income generating.
 Contributing to the adding value to the animal and crop products of ISAE.

The directorate will soon grow mushrooms and and produce chicken for layers. In addition to that, a milk processing plant is in construction and it we will produce cream, butter, fresh milk, coagulated milk and meat.
